Solutions for Energy Development

In 1989, Shell Offshore, Inc. sought methods to automate their deep water Tension Leg Platform, Auger, the largest deep water oil and gas platform in the Gulf of Mexico. Shell engaged CPU to explore the latest technologies, and recommend a solution that would be viable for the scheduled 1993 startup.

After reviewing CPU's recommendations, Shell retained CPU as the overall control system integrator for Auger.

Solutions for Scientific Advancement

European scientists designed and implemented the largest ground-based telescope to date. Set atop a Chilean mountain, Mount Paranal, this telescope sees farther into the universe than any other.

CPU played a pivotal role in this project. A complex computer "tool kit," used for a wide variety of applications, was personalized to meet the scientists' specifications. Thanks to CPU, optimum control and data acquisition is now possible.

Theme Park Attraction Integration
